She is still on her meds for the neuropathy in her legs, this may take some time and she may always have problems with nerve damage from the chemo for either a long time or the rest of her life, we just don't know.
She is still on her medicine for her liver, right now she is stable but as we start weaning her off the liver medicine to check if her liver is healing it will be crazy for me once again as I will need to wake her up throughout the night to check her sugars. So right now I am enjoying sleeping through the night till we start being up throughout the night again. That most likely will not start for a couple of more months.
She will stay on antibiotics for the next six months, I will find out in 2 weeks if she is reacting ok to the oral antibiotics and if she can continue with those or if she will need to go back on the IV antibiotics. So if the oral antibiotics are working she will get her port taken out in the next month or so, if not, she will have her port left in for 6 more months.
She saw her endocrinologist last week and she will begin a survivorship clinic with him and her oncologists to monitor the endocrinology part of her system as I just learned from him that kids with cancer are likely to have problems from that aspect.
She will also be tested and monitored for learning disabilities and for all her motor skills that the chemo tends to effect.
Geez, and I thought I was home free once she ended her chemo in Dec., boy was I wrong! Its going to still be a long journey for us. I am still going to continue to homeschool the girls as right now it is in Haileys best interest that I do so.
The girls all ready for Christmas Eve.
Poor Boo got a "big girl" bike that she still has not been able to ride because of her broken arm.
Boo saw her orthopedic Dr. and had her arm "reset". I loaded her up on pain meds he had given us and because of the severity of her break she didn't need surgery but she needed a couple different casts to reset it.
She picked blue this time and did really, really good getting it redone.
Boo celebrated her birthday! Poor thing saw 2 doctors that day, she had her chemo appt and her arm reset on her birthday.
The girls got gift cards at Justice for Christmas and boy did they have fun shopping!!! It was super crazy for mama trying to keep clothes and amounts separate for each girl but they had the time of their lives!
